I took this photograph during late summer of 2025. I spent the day kayaking the backwaters of the Mississippi River and taking photographs of wildlife and plants. As I kayaked southbound back to the dock around sunset, a large thunderstorm could be seen to the northwest. This storm was predominantly up in the Minneapolis area, but the clouds were so tall that they could be seen hours south. It was mandatory I snapped a few photographs of the sun setting behind this enormous cloud!
